MARRIAGE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS FOR TEXAS

- ID Requirements:  In Texas, you will need one valid form of ID such
  as drivers, certified copy of your birth certificate,
  U.S. Passport, military ID, and your Social Security number.

- Residency Requirements:  Neither one of you have to be a resident of
  Texas. 

- Pre-marital Education:  In Texas, couples are encouraged to attend a
  premarital education course that is at least four hours
  duration.  It must be finished during the year preceding applying for
  a marriage license.  Contact the county clerk for a roster
  of area course providers.

- Waiting Period in Texas: There is a 72 hours (3 days) waiting period
  in Texas.  This  can be waived for active duty military
  personnel.

- Expiration Period:  Do not obtain the license more than 30 days before
  the wedding.  The license will expire on day 31 of the
  issuance.

- Blood  Test:  Not required in the State of Texas.

- Fee:  $71.00

- Representation:  Both parties must be present at the County Clerk's
  office and meet the above requirements.  If one party is not
  able to be present a signed affidavit must be presented.
